This picture taken in the early 1930s shows N. Delmorr Avenue looking north from just beyond and across the street from the present day Morrisville Pool. The houses in the background left are located on the bend just past the ball fields. The creek that made the "Island" is just visible between the group of trees at the center and the New Jersey capitol building is just visible in the background right.
Thanks to Leon McCauley of N Delmorr Avenue for these two pictures. You can see more pictures from Leon at the Morrisville Photo Vault
The picture to the left is from the early 1950's; note that the dike is now in the background and the creek has been filled in. There is also another house added next to the two in the picture above.
North Delmorr Avenue 2007
This picture showing large pieces of ice left by a winter flood was taken near the present day entrance to the pool parking lot on Delmorr Avenue. Note the horse and buggy in the background.
This picture taken in 2006 shows two houses have been added and the horse and buggy have gone on their way.
Morrisville Bank at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Bridge Street as seen in 1936. Look closely at this picture then the older picture below it.
I guess that's the same tree.
If you look closely at the picture below you can see the Morrisville Bank as it appeared in 1936 sandwiched between additions that had been removed by 1936. Just below the peak of the roof there is a stone plague dated 1802, making this building well over a hundred years older than this picture.
This picture taken in 2006 shows the original building with other additions on the right
The Stockham Building and downtown Morrisville. This is across the street from the pictures above.
