In 1893 a Morrisville artist named T. M. Fowler drew a very detailed and accurate map of Morrisville. He was also commissioned to draw maps for other towns all across Bucks County and eastern United States. The drawings below came from that map. The map is actually a birds eye view of Morrisville in 1893 and is definitely worth taking a look at. You can find that map by going back to the Morrisville home page and clicking on Historic Map of Morrisville.
With a little research we found the addresses of some of the specific houses on the map. We went back to these houses today and took a modern pictures of five of the houses. These houses have changed over the last hundred and ten years, but they and many other Morrisville homes just like them, are part of Morrisville's heritage.
This home on Washington Street looks pretty much as it did over one hundred years ago.
Dennis Capoferri who grow up on Grove Street informed us that the house below was originally located at the corner of Washington Street and Wood Street but was moved to its present location on Bank Street when additional ramps were added to the toll bridge around 1960. Wood Street was also removed at that time.
This house on Delaware Avenue, home of H. B. Harper can be seen on the Morrisville Then and Now page.
